The Pompey Supporters’ Trust have organised a ‘tifo’ display for the final home game of the season against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Supporters in the Fratton End will be given a coloured piece of card to hold up when the players form their pre-match huddle, which will create a striking visual image to celebrate the success of the team during this historic season.
PST chair Donald Vass said: “We want to welcome the League One champions back onto the Fratton Park pitch with a special atmosphere for this final home fixture.
“We ask fans to be in their seats on time and to take part. With the whole stand joining in together, we’ll create a lasting image to look back on and remember this special year.”
After the game, fans are asked to either take home their cards as souvenirs or put them in the bin on their way out of the ground.
Vass added: “We’d love the opportunity to stage more displays like this in the future for any big games we might play next year, but we won’t be able to do so if these cards end up on the pitch.”
